The Rise in 1950- India
Republic Day marks an important event in India’s history. It commemorates the enactment of the Constitution of India that came into effect on January 26, 1950, and made the nation
into a republic. This day marks the celebration of the empowerment of Indian citizens to select
their own government.
It is a national holiday that commemorates the process of the establishment of the Indian
Constitution. This year we will be celebrating the 73rd Republic Day.
On this day, the President hoists the flag at Rajpath, New Delhi. Ceremonious parades showcase
India’s defense, cultural abilities, cultural and social heritage.
The president of India, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, takes
the salute. The constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on
November 26, 1949, and came into effect 1 year later, on January 26, 1950, with a
democratic government system. The constitution of India is a huge document that lays
down procedures, powers, duties, fundamental rights, and directive principles of the
Government of India & Indian citizens.
The Constitution of India lays down the framework defining fundamental political
principles, establishes the structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions,
and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens. The
process took 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days—at a total expenditure of ₹6.4 million to finish.
Another thing that happened is that India became a fully sovereign Republic country as
compared to the earlier Commonwealth under the British Monarch.
Since Republic day, I think the most important event that has happened is the Position of
President of India was formed & we got our first President as head of the country who
is none other than Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
